Lisa was excited for her first day of work and was
eager when the carpool came. Little did she know that Pearl was going
to encounter some problems while she was gone.
Pearl wasn't sleeping right and would often stay
awake all night before going to school half awake. One day she came
home and took a nap right after school.
Lilly, however, was better with her sleep schedule
and almost always started her homework as soon as she got home.
Well, well. Looks like Lilly can be nice to some
people after all.
After Pearl woke up from her nap, she thought she
heard something under the bed. So she took a peak.
As soon as she saw red glowing eyes, she sprang on to
her feet.
Pearl bolted out of the door and ran all the way to
the nursery where she proceeded to comfort herself by riding her
favorite toy ever, the rocking horse.
Meanwhile Lisa had come home and sat next to Kenneth
as he watched television. "Whoa... I didn't know they could put
that on TV..." Kenneth blinked and looked at her before smiling.
"Hey honey! How did you first day of work go?"
"Oh Kenneth!" She clasped her hands
together excitedly. "It was great! You never would have guessed
what they said." He smirked and looked back at the television.
"That you were amazing and great?"
"Well... yes. But they are already considering
me for a promotion! Can you believe that!?"
Kenneth turned to her and pulled her in to his arms.
"That's fantastic, Lisa... You know, on one of your days off we
should celebrate. Go out for lunch or something."
Lisa smiled and leaned in for a kiss. "That
sounds fantastic... It's a date. For now, let's head to bed."
The two went to bed assuming the girls were asleep
since they had seen them both go in. However Pearl was still awake.
Ever since her nap she had been periodically going in to the bedroom
to check under the bed to see if the monster was gone. And every time
she did, it would flash it's scary eyes and try to grab her. Pearl
was hungry and tired but refused to sleep. Instead of getting some
left overs from the refrigerator, she went to the kid's oven and
attempted to bake a muffin.
Judging from her face, it didn't turn out so well.
But she ate it anyway and finally as morning came, Pearl took a very,
very short nap on the couch, only to be woken up by the school bus.
Pearl ended up falling asleep in class and this got
her in trouble. Kenneth confronted Lilly when he saw she came home
without her sister. "Lilly, where's Pearl?"
"Oh, she got detention for sleeping in class.
Didn't you know? She hasn't been sleeping at night. I don't care
though, I don't have to hear her snore." Lilly snorted a little
in a laughing fashion. Kenneth frowned but saved his words for when
Pearl came home.
When Pearl got home, Kenneth immediately pulled her
in to the living room. "Pearl, I heard you were put in detention
for sleeping in school. Why would you be sleeping in school?"
Pearl looked ashamed. "I dunno... I was awake
the night before and then yesterday I thought I heard something... So
I looked under the bed and there was a monster! And it wouldn't go
away!"
Kenneth sighed. "Pearl, that's nonsense! You
were probably seeing monsters because you were delirious from lack of
sleep. You really need to take better care of yourself. Now I want
you to go to bed right now... You can work on your homework in the
morning." "Yes, papa..."
The next morning after both kids got to school well
rested and ready for the day, Kenneth decided to ask Lisa out for
their little date. It wasn't her day off, but the kids were in school
and it was enough of a break for them.
"I would love to! It'd be nice to get out of the
house with you. Where did you have in mind?"
"Well..." Kenneth pulled out a bouquet of
roses. "I was thinking of going to the fairy gardens where I
proposed." Lisa was surprised by his gift. "Oh Kenneth!...
Really? Oh that sounds wonderful!"
Thus the two went down to the gardens and actually
went inside this time. While they were there, they had a little...
adult fun, since no one else was around.
Hungry from their romp in the gardens, Lisa and
Kenneth went to the dinner to grab a bite to eat before she went to
work. While it wasn't the most romantic date ever, it was enough for
Lisa and she enjoyed her time out with Kenneth.
In my opinion, I think there is a lot of Homer inside of Kenneth's face. You know, the cheekbones and a little bit of the nose. Hes still quite handsome though :P
