Is Someone There?

Not long after Chace and Freya's birthdays came Leisure day. Melanie spent some time playing catch outside with Ami.

While Julie and Chace giggled and gossiped. Despite being a loner, Chace and Julie got along very well together.

Alex used his time off from work to spend time with his baby girl and teach Freya how to walk.

Daisy went wandering around and ended up aging up next to some guy. She really looks just like her dad... Except she's blue.

Over the days, Ami began to work on her magic. Sometimes she would do it in private. Ami wasn't sure if Julie was jealous that she didn't get powers too or what, but the two didn't get along very well. They never fought, it's just Julie payed much more attention to her other siblings than her own twin. In fact, even Chace kept some distance from her even though they were very much alike.

Soon the prom came around for the twins. Neither one had dates but they decided to go anyway.

While at the dance, Ami got in to several fights, one involving someone teasing her and another about someone spilling punch on her friend's dress. Ami was disappointed to find that her crush had come with a date while Julie was refused a dance by a loner. She had simply thought once someone offered, he'd come out of his shell like her brother Chace. The two girls were able to impress some boys but it never lead to getting a kiss or asked to dance.

While the girls were at prom, Alex decided to play with Chace on their new seesaw. "Hah! This is kind of fun! I never had one of these while I was growing up." Chace laughed. "You're such a goof, dad."

Several days later, Melanie displayed more love towards Chace by reading him a bed time story... In her own bed. I suppose Chace was getting tired of sleeping in the same room as Freya.

Outside, Ami was playing with the one person in the house that seemed to understand her. While everyone in the house loved and adored Daisy, Ami always felt she had a connection with her. They were alike in some ways. They were different and sometimes shunned. Whenever guests came over, they'd be alarmed by Daisy's presence and sometimes even fainted. While Ami didn't have people fainting because of her, she understood what it was like to be a bit of an outcast.

Once she was done playing with Daisy and went inside, Ami felt a twinge of pain in her head. That had been happening on and off since she started having odd dreams. Dreams about some place far from home and a mysterious man. But the more she tried to remember the dreams, the more she forgot them. Suddenly, Ami felt as though she was being watched.

She went to the kitchen window and looked outside. She caught a glimpse of white eyes in the distance but they were gone in a flash. Ami hesitantly turned and headed to bed.

"I could have sworn there was something watching me..."

That night Ami had more of the strange dreams. But when she woke up the next morning, the only thing she could remember was the thought, 'But I don't love him'.

The next morning before school, Ami confronted her father. "Hey dad... Have you ever felt like something was... watching you?" "Hmm? I can't say that I have.... Well, except sometimes I feel like aliens might be in the sky watching me but often times they are." He scrunched up his face.

"Aliens? No, dad, I mean like... Like you feel like someone's at the window looking in but when you go to look out, nothing's there. Or you see something out of the corner of your eye but it turns out there is nothing."

"Not at all... Though you could be seeing gnomes. Those little devils have been popping up everywhere lately." Ami shook her head and looked down. "I don't think it's gnomes..."
