Alex spent the whole next day preparing to have
Melanie over. When he finally called her over, he had her come in to
the living room. "Melanie... This is not how I wanted this to
happen. But I love you, I really do. And I was going to do this
anyway, just not so soon." Alex knelt down and pulled out a
ring. "Melanie... I would love it if you would become my wife...
and make us a complete family."
A smile formed on her face and her cheeks turned a
little red. "Oh Alex... You really are so sweet..." Alex
was nervous, thinking that there was a 'but' behind it. However he
was delighted as Melanie held out her hand for the ring. "I
would love to marry you..."
After slipping the ring on, Alex spoke to his unborn
child. "Hear that little one? We're gonna be a big happy
family!" Melanie laughed.
Alex put a hand on her stomach and smiled up at her.
"Melanie, I'm so glad you're taking this so well... And I hope
you'll say yes to this next question as well. I know it's not much
and I was hoping to have a bigger house when we got married but I was
wondering if you'd like to move in with me... It'd make me feel
better knowing I was closer to aid you in whatever you needed."
Melanie smiled. "Of course. You've seen my
place, at least your house looks like a house. Mine's some lakeside
cabin site they turned in to a housing complex after the lake dried
up." Alex laughed. "Yeah well at least you had multiple
bedrooms."
Over the days, Alex worked hard. He regretted not
being home much for Melanie but she seemed happy enough. However he
was afraid Toby might begin to feel neglected, especially after the
baby came. Plus, he had to admit, the idea of ghost puppies would be
cool. So he got this little girl. Her name's Belle. Isn't she cute?
Toby certainly thought so. He took a liking to her
right away.
Melanie wasn't quite so happy but the dogs didn't
bother her much and it wasn't like they'd need more supplies. There
wasn't much for Melanie to do during the day so she practiced her
magic. That's right, apparently Melanie is a witch.
Over time Melanie began to take a liking to the dogs.
Especially when they did their business outside and not in the house
where she'd have to clean it.
She even began giving Toby some love.
Alex was getting fairly far in his career and was now
selling albums to different proprietors around town. He really hoped
that he'd be making nice sums of money soon so not only would he have
more money, but he could spend more time at home.
Alexander's crazy hectic life got crazier as soon as
Melanie went in to labor. Alex had just came home to go to bed but
nope! To the hospital we go.
"I can get you a wheelchair if you like..."
"Walking helps! Now go get the door!" Alex hurried around
her. "Yes ma'am!" Alex had a hard time being in the
delivery room. It wasn't because he was dead tired, which he was, but
because of the mess of the whole ordeal. It drove him nuts! But the
mess was the least of his problems when out came baby Ami... and then
baby Julie. That's right. Twins. Ami got the traits Easily Impressed
and Neurotic while Julie got the traits Couch Potato and Virtuoso.
Lots of musical people in the del Saco blood line apparently.
Alex was prepared to squeeze one baby in to his home
but not two! There was no way they'd be able to remodel the house
correctly or have enough money. So they had an emergency move. Using
everything they had, they bought a piece of land and plopped together
this house. Alex unfortunately had to sell his karaoke machine and in
the rush of the move, forgot his family photos on the wall. Oh
well...
Once settled in, they set the girls in their cribs
and went to bed even though the sun was starting to come out.
Everything was a mess. The twins were some of the
most neediest children ever and Melanie could hardly keep up.
Alexander helped as much as he could, even coming home in between
sing-o-grams to give Melanie a hand. But it seemed no matter what
they did, they couldn't catch a break or even catch some Z’s. Not
to mention they only had 22 simoleons after the move so Alex couldn't
afford to take any time off. Melanie even tried wishing at the well
for money. While it didn't quite work how she wanted, she did get
this nice gem.
After what seemed like ages, it was time for the
girls to age up. Look at poor Alex's sleep deprived face.
First up was Ami. She had her mother's looks and hair
but her father's eye color.
Julie had her father's look but her mom's hair. She had dark green eyes. Possibly something from one of her relatives. I was hoping for more variety and at least one of them to
have Alex's hair. I hate that default poop brown hair my townies get.
After the girls had their birthdays and were taken
care of, Alex and Melanie had a private wedding in their house. They
had hardly any money and Melanie agreed that the money the did have
would be better spent on other things anyway.
While that was going on, Ami was busy surprising
herself. Poof!
And then, zap! Ami continued to summon and un-summon
one of the toys from the toy box. Looks like someone inherited
mommies witch powers. Ami wasn't the only one who got an inheritance.
Pearl and Lilly obtained money from Kenneth and Lisa's passing away
and since they knew Alex desperately needed the money, they gave it
to them. He was able to put some upgrades in to the house and breath
a little easier.
That night they got to work teaching the girls their
talking skills. There was a whole lot of babbling going on in that
room.
Not long after, it was Belle's birthday.
Which was good because Ami woke up very early when
Melanie and Alex both very much needed their sleep. So Belle looked
after her.
Pretty soon it was time for a gift giving party!
Every once in awhile a guest would randomly faint. It took me awhile
to realize it was because of Toby. I suppose not everyone is so keen
on ghost dogs.
Everyone gathered around the gift pile and began to
grab presents. You may notice Pearl and Lilly look a little
different. That's because my game crashed awhile back without me
saving and they lost their cool new outfits. I didn't bother changing
their outfits back to what they were before.
Melanie was excited to get a very nice picture, if I
recall right.
Aunt Lilly got a chess table. Yay!
Momma Pearl got herself a new gaming system.
And Alex got a guitar. Now he can sing AND play
guitar!
After all the guests left and the babies were put to
bed, Alex got a surprise as he entered his bedroom. Melanie grabbed
him and pulled him in to a kiss. "Things may have been crazy
lately and incredibly hard but... Whenever I look at you it makes it
all better, you know?" Alex smiled at his wife's words. "I
know..." He kissed her back before leading her over to the bed.
"Are you ready for our present to ourselves?"
Alex gave her a sly smile. "Yes I am..."
