The Big Opportunity

Ami sat in the sandbox, staring off in to space. It wont be long now and I'll have my birthday... Julie wants to be a musician like dad... Chace wants to be a scientist... Even Freya knows she wants to be an artist... But I have no idea what I'm going to do with my life.

Ami was still sorrowful the next morning, so she enjoyed some time with Daisy before the bus came to bring them to school.

Not everyone enjoyed spending time with Daisy. Such as the mailman. Look! She's got him so scared, he went cross eyed!

Soon rain turned to snow and Freya's first order of business was building a sand castle. Really?

Finally in the midst of winter, the time Ami dreaded came. Her birthday. The family got together before school and had the twins have their parties.

Ami's final traits are Neurotic, Easily Impressed, Loves the Outdoors, Commitment Issues, and Good.

Up next was Julie who decided to change in to her outerwear.

Julie's final traits are Virtuoso, Couch Potato, Hates the Outdoors, Computer Whiz and...Vehicle Enthusiast? Alright then...

After Chace and Freya went to school, Melanie sat down to enjoy some pancakes while Ami stared off. "So sweety... Any idea what you want to do once you graduate?" Ami shook her head. "No idea... I was thinking of exploring my magical side more but... that's not really a career... I honestly don't know what I'll do..."

The night after the twin's had their birthday came a big opportunity for Alex. He was finally going to be able to perform at the big stadium! Everyone packed in to the limo and came to watch Alexander's wonderful performance.

Alexander had done it. He had become a star, just like he said he would. And on top of it all, he had a wonderful loving family.

Back home, Belle reached a milestone as well as she celebrated her elder birthday in the chest high snow. She immediately returned to playing with her ball. Belle wasn't going to let old age get in HER way!

The next day was yet another birthday. Freya's! Their youngest child was becoming a teenager.

Freya gained the trait, Technophobe. Well, it looks like she and Julie wont be talking about computers anymore.

The night after Ami and Julie's graduation, Ami went to get the mail. Inside she found a letter addressed to her. It had no return address and on the back was an elaborate wax seal. "Huh..." Ami opened it, and it read:

Dear Ami del Saco Diwan,

It has recently come to our attention that your family appears to be highly gifted in the art of magic. However you yourself seem to be more in tune with your gift than anyone else. We are always on the look out for talented people such as yourself and would like to extend an offer for you to come stay at our abode so you may further your studies in the craft. We will supply you with all you need and will aid you in any questions you may have. We regret to inform you, however, that our abode is in Sunset Valley. We understand that it is a long way from Lucky Palms but we hope you consider our offer. If you do decided to join us, come to city hall in Sunset Valley and we will send a cab to pick you up. Don't worry, we'll know when you've arrived.

Sincerely,

Mr. Alabaster

Ami was stunned. While she was highly wary of the letter, her mom and dad got random opportunities all the time. And this would be a great one for her. This could be her purpose, what she should do with her life. Ami was going to take the chance. "You sure you want to do this sweety?" "I'm sure mom... I have to at least try... I don't want to be scared, stuck in the house all the time." Melanie squeezed her tight. "I'm proud of you, baby girl."

Alex got his hug next. "You're going to be a super star in your own way, kiddo. Hopefully it wont be because you're the queen of zombies and have taken over Sunset Valley." Ami laughed. "Daaad!"

"Julie... I know we didn't always get along but... I'm going to miss you. Really, I will." Julie smiled at her. "Yeah... Me too... Oh, and sis..."

Julie got a very serious look on her face. "Not everyone is out to get you, okay?"

Ami stopped in Chace's room on her way to pack. "I know you're my little brother but... You got any advice for me?"

"Sure sis. Remember that EVERYONE is out to get you."

And last was Freya. "Hey baby sister... Look I-"

"I'm going to miss you so much!" Freya began bawling. Ami simply smiled and pulled her in to a hug. She was going to miss her family, and she loved them dearly, even if she was the odd one out. But it was time for her to spread her wings and fly... On an airplane.. To Sunset Valley.
